The Sacrament of Anointing is for those who are sick. A person should be anointed before surgery if a dangerous illness is present. There is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive this blessing. It may be repeated if the sick person recovers and becomes ill again. Also, an older person in a weakened condition may be anointed even though a dangerous illness is not present. Sick children who have reached the age of reason may be anointed to give them comfort. Don't miss out on this sacrament by putting it off. It is a form of comfort, strengthening our faith and devotion. Jesus shows great concern for the welfare of the sick, and commands His followers to do the same. Please call the Rectory for more information or to make an appointment, 631-765-3442.
